Pump Jacks Job Fair Goes into 'Extra Innings' This Sunday

The Jacks have extended their job fair one more day, this Sunday at the Kilgore Chamber of Commerce, offering another chance to become part of the fun and excitement of Pump Jacks baseball.

The East Texas Pump Jacks have extended their annual job fair one more day, giving everyone a final opportunity to join the only sports franchise in East Texas.

The Jacks just wrapped up the opening weekend of the job fair, but the team chose to add another day in order to give applicants a final chance to work for the Pump Jacks this summer. The event will continue this Sunday, May 11, from 1 to 6 p.m. The job fair will again take place at the Kilgore Chamber of Commerce, located at 813 North Kilgore Street in Kilgore.

"The Pump Jacks have developed a championship pedigree in our first six seasons, and that includes a top-notch staff," said general manager Mike Lieberman. "We're inviting anyone who wants to be part of the fun and excitement of Pump Jacks baseball to help us make 2014 our best season yet."

The Jacks understand that summer jobs are plentiful, but none are like spending the season at historic Driller Park.

"The thrill of being at the ballpark isn't just for fans, it's shared by our employees as well," said Lieberman. "Where else in East Texas can you be a part of an exciting sporting event time and again over the summer, and get paid to be there -

Applicants can work in the ticket office, in concessions, selling beer, as wait staff, with the promo team... even as mascots!

The team plays two to four games per week throughout the summer, making it a great second job for anyone interested in making a little extra money. The Pump Jacks have also been a first job for teenagers ever since the team arrived in East Texas in 2008. Retirees, teachers, and those with restaurant and bar experience have also enjoyed their summers as part of the Pump Jacks staff.

Applicants can visit the job fair to learn about the different positions available and to complete an application. Interviews will be conducted on-site, so applicants are encouraged to dress accordingly. Applicants must be at least 16 years old to be hired.
