
Prowlers Take Thursday Tilt 6-4 against Demolition

DAYTON, OHIO - For the first two periods, the Port Huron Prowlers and the Dayton Demolition battled closely and kept the fans on the edge of their Hara Arena wooden seats. Port Huron used two 3rd Period goals to dispatch the home Demolition crew by a 6-4 margin.
Things got underway at the 6:55 mark of the 1st Period; Port Huron's Dustin Skinner drew first blood past Dayton's Louie George. Skinner's 14th tally was assisted by Jared Hicks and Mark Rivera, and the Prowlers led 1-0 briefly before the Demolition struck back. At the 8:22 mark, it was Michael Dolman taking charge past Andy DiCristofaro for his eighth lamp-lighting. Dolman's goal was marked with Martin Uhnak's first of three assists and Rich Ledy's first of two. Dayton closed the scoring in the 1st with a Mike Henderson goal, directed by Brian Marks and Martin Uhnak again. Henderson's third tally gave the Wrecking Crew a 2-1 lead twenty minutes in.
In the 2nd Period, Port Huron outscored Dayton 3-2, taking the lead on two goals separated by only twenty-one seconds. The Demolition built on top their one-goal lead with a Harry Mahesh offering. Mahesh's third goal was assisted by Martin Uhnak's third assist and Derrick Schwartz. Dayton's two-goal lead was trimmed with the Prowlers' only Power Play opportunity of the night. At the 4:20 mark, Roger Tagoona (8th) buried the man-advantage goal past George, with Alonzo and Hicks setting up the score. Shy of nine minutes later, Justin Alonzo tied the game up for the first time since the 1st Period. Alonzo's 7th bury was supported by Skinner and Rivera at the 13:06 mark of the 2nd. Then, Port Huron made it down the ice again and scored the go-ahead goal. Twenty-one seconds after Alonzo's equalizer, Robert Vanwynsberghe redirected a Jack Callahan snipe with some Jay Kenney help. Port Huron enjoyed a 4-3 lead until the last minute of the 2nd, with Cody Milligan bulldozing a rebound off of DiCristofaro. Milligan, Henderson, and Ledy took the goal at the 19:22 mark to tie things up 4-4 after forty minutes.
Port Huron used their offensive magic in the third, with Jared Hicks sniping the Game-Winner Goal at the 12:06 mark. Hicks' 6th tally had one helper; Matt Fuller. The Prowlers' put some icing on their 11th overall win with a Mark Rivera finish at the 14:48 mark. The last goal of the night was finished with Skinner and Tagoona's help. Port Huron won 6-4 on a Thursday night.
With the win, the Prowlers have won five straight (and six of the last seven.) Dayton dropped to 4-7-3 with the loss. Port Huron has Friday off before hosting Berlin on Saturday, whereas the Demolition host the same River Drivers squad Friday Night.
Louie George took the loss with 25 saves tonight. Andy DiCristofaro compounded 43 saves in the victory. Mark Rivera was the 3rd Star with one goal and two dishes, Martin Uhnak was the 2nd Star with a three-set of assists, and Port Huron's Jared Hicks was the 1st Star with the GWG.
