Prospect Report: Will Ulrich
June 25, 2015 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Minnesota Magicians News Release
Michigan native Will Ulrich was selected by the Minnesota Magicians in the 4th Round (#71 Overall) of the 2015 North American Hockey League (NAHL) Draft. During the 2014-2015 season, Ulrich was a member of the Chicago Young Americans (CYA) Midget Major team. In 15 High Performance Hockey League (HPHL) games, he had a Goals Against Average (GAA) of 3.17 and a Save Percentage (SV%) of .896. Prior to his time with CYA, Ulrich played with St. Mary's Prep school in Michigan in addition to spending the 2013-2014 season in the Michigan Developmental Hockey League (MDHL).Â
Of Ulrich, Magicians Head Coach Tom Upton said, "Will spent some time with us last season and fit in great with our team and culture. He is a great person who is very driven to be his best and expects the most out of himself and his teammates day in and day out. His personality and compete level is what separates him from other goaltenders around the country and we are very fortunate we were able to draft him."
Ulrich will compete for a spot on the Magicians initial 2015-2016 roster at the team's Main Camp in late July at Richfield Ice Arena.Â
