Minnesota Magicians News Release
A defenseman from Middletown, New Jersey, Tim Gelatt was tendered by the Minnesota Magicians after impressing scouts with his play for the New Jersey Jr. Titans of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL). Last season Gelatt played in 24 games for the 18U Jr. Titans and collected 20 assists, 7 of which came on the powerplay. During the previous season with the 16U Jr. Titans, he played in 24 games and collected 7 goals to go along with 6 assists. Â
Magicians Head Coach Tom Upton said of Gelatt, "Tim impressed us right away when we first saw him play last season. He plays hard defense while also bringing an offensive element to his game. On top of his play on the ice impressing us, his personality and the way he conducted himself as a person during our conversations with him equally impressed us. He is a very driven young man who is invested in developing and playing at the highest level. We are very proud that we signed him to a tender for the coming season."
Gelatt will compete with other Magicians hopefuls at the team's Main Camp at Richfield Ice Arena in late July. For more information and to stay up to date on all the latest news and information regarding the Minnesota Magicians, follow the team on Facebook and Twitter.
