June 15, 2015 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Minnesota Magicians News Release
Recently tendered goaltender Ryan Edquist comes from Lakeville, Minnesota. After playing his Bantam and Midget hockey at Shattuck St. Mary's prep school, Edquist was named the starting goaltender for Lakeville North High School in the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL). Last season at Lakeville North, he led his team to an undefeated record and State Championship. His numbers on the year included 8 shutouts, a .940 Save Percentage (SV%), and a Goals Against Average (GAA) of 1.30.
Of Edquist, Magicians Head Coach Tom Upton said, "Ryan has good size and great athletic ability in the net. He is a very talented young prospect who already has a very impressive hockey resume with his time in AAA and high school hockey. He is very hard working and driven to be the best he can be and his character is exactly what we want here with the Magicians. I am excited to watch him develop and grow as a player and person during his time with us."
In addition to being tendered by the Minnesota Magicians of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), Edquist's rights are also owned in the United States Hockey Leagues (USHL) by the Madison Capitols. Following his junior hockey career, he will play collegiate hockey at the University of Minnesota.
