USSSA Pride News Release
VIERA, FL. The Pride and Wild faced off in a double header matchup this Saturday evening, with both teams having high expectations to gain control of the series with two wins.
Game 1
After a quiet start to the game by both teams until the top of the third as the Canadian Wild were able to tack on one with an RBI single by Joey Lye.
It didn't take long for the Pride to answer right back after Megan Good reached base, Alex Powers drove one into the gap for an RBI double. Allexis Bennett also wanted to hop on the hit train and added another run on the score board with an RBI single herself, scoring Powers.
After Sydney Romero reaches on an error, and two recorded outs by the wild, Chelsea Goodacre decides first pitch swing and takes one yard for a three run bomb to open up the scoring for the Pride.
With a few base runners getting on for the Pride, the Pride came up short with adding on some insurance runs on in the fifth.
The Crazy scoring frenzy died down as we went on to the second half of the game, and both pitchers were able to settle in and generate some outs for their teams.
With game one of this double header in the books the USSSA Pride were able to capture game one smoothly with a 5-1 Win.
A great bounce back game for the Pride to take a 2-1 series lead over the wild.
In the circle for the Pride and getting the win was Jessica Burroughs. Burroughs went the whole game recording three strikeouts and only allowing one earned run.
And with an outstanding performance at the plate Chelsea Goodacre is awarded our RIP-IT player of the game going two for three with three RBIs and a Homer.

Game 2
The Pride continued their hot bats into game two when the top of the lineup were able to load the bases up for Megan Wiggins. After a hit back to the pitcher and a dropped ball by the catcher Sydney Romero was able to cross the plate on the error for the Prides first run of the ball game in the bottom of the first.
All the Wild needed to get going was a little pressure by the Pride, and were able to bounce back and tie the game up in the top of the second off an RBI double from Shianna Brannan. The Wild continued to apply an offensive push giving them a one run lead in the top of the second.
As the Pride returned to the plate in the bottom of the second so did the offensive threat. Alex Powers reached base from a HBP followed up by back to back singles from Bennett and Romero. Leaving the bases loaded for Kelly Kretschman as she drew the walk to tie the game up in the bottom of the second with no outs.
Following a wild pitch Allexis Bennett was able to use her speed to slide into home adding another run on the scoreboard for the Pride.
Once again the second half of the game was a lot quieter then the first half of the game. After a few scoreless innings the Pride still led 4-2 going into the sixth.
Powers had enough of the silence and lead off the bottom of the sixth with a double. Followed by a beautiful base hit bunt from Bennett, which Powers was able to score on. Bennett then caused two crimes stealing back to back bases.
Sydney Romero jumped on a ball in sweet spot driving Bennett in with an RBI double to right center. The Pride pushed three across in the bottom of the sixth to extend the lead to 7-2.
And that does it here from the Space Coast Complex as the Pride manage to get their second win of the day defeating the Canadian Wild 7-2.
The Pride looked very comfortable at the plate tonight scoring seven runs off seven hits to secure game four of the series.
In the circle for the Pride, Jailyn Ford and Megan Good as they both came in and out throughout the game attacking the Wild lineup and only letting up two runs off of four hits between the two of them. Getting credit with the win is Jailyn Ford.
Our RIP-IT player of the game goes to Allexis Bennett. Bennett went three for three, driving in one run, and stealing three bases on the night.
