Pride announce opening weekend extravaganza

(Nashua, NH, May 12, 2006) - Nashua Pride team officials announced today that the opening weekend will feature first pitches by the two Red Sox greats Luis Tiant and Rico Petrocelli. Each special evening during the weekend will feature a fantastic giveaway opportunity to one lucky fan starting on Thursday, May 25th and ending on Sunday, May 28th. The whole weekend of fun festivities are sponsored by Budweiser and the Nashua Telegraph.

The weekend festivities will kick off on Thursday, May 25th with Luis Tiant throwing out the first pitch, a Budweiser Clydesdale appearance and one fan will have the opportunity to win a limo ride, dinner and tickets for two to a Sheryl Crow and Dave Matthews Band at Fenway Park. Soda Pop The Clown and face painters will also be on hand to add to the festivities of the Pride's inaugural game in the Can-Am League.

For Friday, May 26th the Pride will present another Red Sox Hall of Famer, Rico Petrocelli, to throw out the first pitch and the wild and zany national entertainment act Zooperstars will be on hand to entertain kids of all ages. The Pride's on-field promotional squad will also debut its Dash for Cash sponsored by St. Mary's Bank and don't forget that every fan will have the chance to win a year supply of ice cream courtesy of Brigham's.

Saturday, May 27th will feature a pre-game concert to get people moving in their seats and an unbelievable opportunity for one fan to walk away with the Pride of New England sports package consisting of 2 tickets to a Celtics, Bruins, Patriots and Bruins game.

Sunday Family Funday on May 28th brings the unbelievable weekend to a close with live performances and an autograph session with American Idol finalist, Ayla Brown. The World Famous Monkey Boy will be ready for another comeback and has some high octane antics in store for his hometown fans from the city of Nashua. One person will win a family trip for four to Disney World to punctuate the weekend with a bang!

The Pride would also like to invite every child in the surrounding area to come and enjoy the new inflatables in the Kid Zone with free admission for the whole weekend.

The Nashua Pride, entering their first year of play in the Canadian American Association of Professional Baseball, play their home games at Historic Holman Stadium. Prior to joining the Can-Am League, the Pride played for eight seasons in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, winning the 2000 Atlantic League championship.
