
Pride and Riveters Trade Rights to Carpenter and D'Oench

New York, NY - The New York Riveters and Boston Pride of the National Women's Hockey League have traded the rights to Alex Carpenter and Miye D'Oench, General Managers Chad Wiseman and Hayley Moore announced Thursday.
Carpenter (Boston College) was drafted first overall by the Riveters in the 2015 NWHL Draft. At BC, she scored 279 points (134g, 145a) in 150 games and won the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award her junior year. She won a silver medal with USA Hockey at the 2014 Olympics. Miye D'Oench (Harvard) was drafted fifteenth overall by the Boston Pride, and collected 122 points (64g, 58a) in 135 NCAA games.
In addition, the Riveters will receive $2,000 towards their salary cap from the Pride, as negotiated by Wiseman and Moore under the draft tax bylaws.
Carpenter and D'Oench may continue any contract negotiations already in progress with their new club.
Restricted free agency began April 1 and lasts until April 30. Free agency begins May 1 and lasts until July 31. The 2016 NWHL Draft is June 18.
