
Prentice Purnell named NIFL All-Star

ROME, Ga. - Prentice Purnell has been chosen to represent Rome in the 2005 NIFL All-Star Weekend in Odessa, Texas Friday, August 5 through Saturday, August 6. Parnell the Renegades defensive tackle from Cochran, Georgia. He attended West Georgia College.
"We are excited about this opportunity for Prentice, and we feel he is the type of player that represents what Rome is all about, "said head coach David Humphreys. Purnell was among the original members selected to make-up the 2005 All-Star team; however, his name was mistaken left off the original list that was released from the league office yesterday. "It was simple oversight," explained Humphreys.
Purnell along with the other top players from around the league will take on the undefeated Odessa Rougnecks during Saturday's All-Star game. In addition to the game, the All-star weekend will include for Purnell the opportunity to participate in a skills competition and a professionally produced combine in front of scouts and coaches from the AFL, CFL, NFLE, and the NFL.
