Orlando Predators Wide Receiver Kendal Thompkins

ORLANDO - October 8, 2015 - The Orlando Predators made their first moves of the offseason by retaining three key players from their 2015 South Division championship roster.
The team has announced that wide receivers Greg Carr and Kendal Thompkins and defensive end Meshak Williams have all agreed to terms on new contracts. The trio will return for their third season with the franchise after originally joining the Predators as rookie free agents in 2014.
"One of our top priorities as an organization is to assemble a championship-caliber team," said Head Coach Rob Keefe. "Re-signing these players proves we are committed to winning and heading in the right direction. These three men are quality football players, but more importantly, great people that all bring very special qualities to our team."
Carr (6-6, 230, Florida State) earned Second-Team All-Arena accolades and was named the Arena Football League's Rookie of the Year after hauling in 113 passes for 1,435 yards and 36 touchdowns in 2014. Injuries limited Carr to 11 games last season, but he still managed 47 receptions for 554 yards and nine scores.
A local product from North Marion High School (Citra, FL), Carr played his college ball at Florida State, where he remains tied for second in Seminoles history with 29 career touchdown receptions.
Thompkins (5-10, 180, Miami) posted career-highs in 2015, catching 89 passes for 1,188 yards and 17 touchdowns. He finished ranking seventh in the AFL in receiving yards per game (91.4), eighth in yards per catch (13.3), and tenth in receptions per game (6.85). The former Hurricanes receiver was a prep star at Miami Northwestern, where he helped his school secure the 2007 High School National Championship (USA Today).
Williams (6-2, 260, Kansas State) was Orlando's most productive defensive lineman last season, posting 29.5 total tackles with a team-high 5.5 sacks and 9.5 stops for loss. He tied for third in the AFL with five forced fumbles while adding two pass breakups, two quarterback hurries, one fumble recovery and one blocked kick. Williams was a two-time All-Big 12 selection during his college career at Kansas State.
