Preds Continue Building Secondary, Add DB De'Mon Glanton

January 6, 2016 - Arena Football League (AFL) - Orlando Predators News Release

ORLANDO - The Orlando Predators have agreed to terms with veteran defensive back De'Mon Glanton, the franchise announced today. Glanton enters his fifth season in the Arena Football League.

"De'Mon is a physical presence in the secondary," said Head Coach Rob Keefe. "He has the size and strength to matchup with some of the bigger receivers around the AFL. We're looking forward to having another veteran presence on our defense."

Glanton (6-2, 207, Mississippi State) entered the AFL in 2012 as a rookie with the Iowa Barnstormers, where he spent the first three seasons of his career. During his time in Iowa, he totaled 219 tackles with two stops for loss, 10 interceptions, 20 pass breakups, and a forced fumble.

Last season, Glanton played for the Portland Thunder and managed to lead the team with 71.5 total tackles despite playing in only 11 games. He also tied for the team lead with four interceptions while adding 10 pass breakups, three forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.

Glanton appeared in all 48 games of his collegiate career at Mississippi State University, where he posted 134 tackles with six stops for loss, 19 pass breakups, five interceptions, four quarterback hurries, and three forced fumbles.

A native of Atlanta, Glanton attended Mays High School, where he led his team to an 11-1 overall record as a two-way player during his senior season.
