Orlando Predators News Release
ORLANDO - There is a silver lining in every cloud. For the Orlando Predators, the silver lining for their season-opening, 73-67 loss to the Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings was the breaking of three single-game records by members of the Predators offense.
QB Nick Hill set two records, including one held by one the greatest quarterbacks to ever play Arena Football, Jay Gruden. Hill's 36 completions eclipsed Gruden's previous mark of 31, set in 2002. Going hand-in-hand with his completions, Hill's 381 yards were also a record. Joe Hamilton, the last quarterback to lead the Predators to the Arena Bowl, set the previous record at 367 yards in 2006.
Hill's primary target on the evening also got in on the record-breaking. WR T.T. Toliver's 16 receptions put him past arguably the best player Arena Football has ever seen, Barry Wagner. Wagner's 15 receptions against the Iowa Barnstormers has stood has the high mark since 1996.
Hill, Toliver, and the rest of the Predators travel to Jacksonville, Friday, April 16 for the first meeting of the brand-new North/South Rivalry. The Sharks are led by former Predators assistant coach, Les Moss.
