
Predators DL Austin Brown Signs with New Orleans Saints

ORLANDO - August 19, 2015 - Orlando Predators nose guard Austin Brown has signed with the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League. Brown was placed on the Arena Football League's Other League Exempt list and the Predators will retain his AFL rights.
"Austin has a constant motor and was relentless in his approach, both on game day and on the practice field," said Head Coach Rob Keefe. "He consistently gives maximum effort and has a work ethic that is second to none. Austin is truly deserving of this opportunity and we couldn't be more proud to see him moving on to the NFL."
Brown (6-2, 300, Miami-OH) start all 18 regular season games in first season in the Arena Football League. The rookie nose guard made an instant impact along the interior of the defensive front for the Predators, racking up 25.0 total tackles with 4.5 sacks, 6.5 tackles for loss, five pass breakups and three forced fumbles. Also a standout on special teams, Brown led the AFL with five blocked kicks in 2015.
Brown was a four-year starter and a two-time team captain during his collegiate career at Miami University (OH). Over 50 games, he registered 167 total tackles with 7.0 sacks, 27.5 tackles for loss, 12 quarterback hurries, five blocked kicks, five pass breakups, and two forced fumbles.
