Pittsburgh Power News Release
The Pittsburgh Power ended the Dallas Vigilante's undefeated streak at home by defeating Dallas 76-75 in front of 9,876 fans in the American Airlines Center. This key week 12 match up offered two teams fighting to win their respective divisions. Both teams scored their highest single game point totals of the season. Pittsburgh improved their record to 6-4 while Dallas dropped to 6-5, losing their third straight game.
Pittsburgh landed the first blow with a completion from Bernard Morris to Mike Washington resulting in the first touchdown of the game. Dallas scored on almost every position in the first half, with quarterback Dan Raudabaugh accounting for four touchdowns and only three incompletions. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh continued to "shoot themselves in the foot" when Jason Willis fumbled a kick return in the end zone, which R.J. Jackson recovered resulting in a Dallas touchdown.
The third quarter started off poorly for Dallas when they turned the ball over on. Morris then quickly connected with Washington for their third connection of the night. Morris and Raudabaugh continued to put on a show for fans, throwing seven and ten touchdowns respectively and no interceptions. Raudabaugh connected with Rubin DeAndrew for a touchdown with 10.7 seconds left. Losing by one, Dallas elected to go for the two point conversion, which was unsuccessful. Dallas showed they still had fight as they recovered an onside kick. Dallas kicker Remy Hamilton missed a 32 yard field goal that would have won the game.
The Power's next game will be June 4th in Pittsburgh as they will play the Cleveland Gladiators in a key East Division matchup. Kickoff will be at 7:35 P.M. and great seats still are on sale.
