
Power Basketball Relocates To Mississauga

(Mississauga, ON) - Basketball fans in Mississauga can begin to feel the energy now that City Council and Power Basketball have joined forces to bring the National Basketball League of Canada to the City of Mississauga for the upcoming 2013-14 NBL Canada season.
"We're very pleased to welcome the National Basketball League of Canada to Mississauga," said Mississauga Mayor Hazel McCallion. "It's a natural fit to now have the exciting sport of professional basketball here in our city. We're looking forward to cheering on our own team at the Hershey Centre with this great addition to our dynamic sport community."
The Power franchise's relocation from Oshawa to Mississauga was approved by the NBL Canada Board of Directors with great enthusiasm for the potential that the city holds. CEO and President, Andre Levingston anticipates that the NBL Canada will be warmly welcomed.
"Mississauga is a city that we've always been excited about," said Levingston. "With its unique diversity and commitment to bringing the very best to all that live there, we feel this team will be welcomed with open arms."
The Power Team is owned and operated by CEO and President Henry Chow through ACE Sports and Entertainment. Chow, who assumed full control of ACE Sports and Entertainment midway through the 2012-13 season is excited to unveil the team to the community. "Last season I was able to absorb and learn a lot about the business of professional sports. My goal is to couple this knowledge with the corporate relationships that I already have established in the area to assist with the success of Power Basketball in Mississauga". Henry Chow is also the owner of Rogers Uptown Wireless which has been a Rogers authorized dealer for 25 years, with over 20 locations in the GTA, including Mississauga.
Power Basketball would like to thank the City of Oshawa and its dedicated fans for their support over the past two seasons. A special thank you to the General Motors Centre, Lovell Drugs, Durham College/UOIT and Travelodge Oshawa.
