On Sunday, the New York Liberty (3-8) fell to the Minnesota Lynx (3-8), 84-77, in the second game of their 2022 three-game season series.

At Barclays Center, the Liberty finished on 45.1% (32-71) shooting from the field, 13.3% (4-30) from three, and 69.2% (9-13) at the free throw line.

KEY RUNS

Q1: Minnesota opened the game on a 9-2 run through the 6:00 mark in the period. New York then went on a 14-6 run from the 5:51 mark of the first through the 9:17 mark of the second.

Q2: The Lynx responded with a late first quarter push into the second frame, going on a 13-5 run between 1:11 remaining in the first quarter and 8:10 in the second quarter.

Q3: Minnesota edged New York in a back-and-forth third quarter, 25-18.

Q4: New York went on an 18-3 run from the beginning of the fourth through the 3:59 mark of the quarter. Minnesota finished the contest on a 10-2 run from the 3:42 mark through the end of the quarter.

PLAYER NOTABLES

Two Liberty players scored in double figures in tonight's game (Ionescu, Howard).

Sabrina Ionescu finished with a game-high 31 points on 54.2% (13-24) shooting from the field, a team-high seven assists, five rebounds, and three steals. En route to tying a season-high in scoring, she also became the first Liberty player to score 20+ points in three consecutive games since Betnijah Laney in 2021.

Natasha Howard dropped 20 points on 60% (9-15) shooting from the floor and added five rebounds, three assists, three blocks, and two steals against her former team.

Han Xu recorded another balanced effort in the Liberty's frontcourt, finishing with nine points and five rebounds on an efficient 80.0% (4-5) from the floor.

Michaela Onyenwere grabbed a season-high six boards on the afternoon alongside her eight points.

For Minnesota, Aerial Powers totaled a team-high 27 points on 50% (11-22) shooting from the field, including 100% (3-3) from deep, seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
