Positive turn out for Junior Lynx tryouts

Tuesday, November 22, 2005 (TORONTO, ON) - The 2006 Toronto Lynx Junior teams tryouts are receiving tremendous response as the Lynx Academy prepares for another exciting season in the Super Y League. "We are experiencing our best attended open tryouts ever," declares Academy Director, Duncan Wilde. "The success and excitement created by our Toronto Lady Lynx in the W-League last summer has carried through to our current Lady Lynx Junior tryouts" he adds. "Not only is the attendance increasing, but the quality of female players is also very high and evident. We are already well on our way to building all our junior teams both male and female for 2006 season. We anticipate many more players coming out this week as we continue our search for dedicated exceptional talent from across the region".

The Toronto Lynx and Lady Lynx Juniors will again be fielding teams (male/female U15, U16, U17 and male U19) in the "Super Y League (SYL), operated by the US based United Soccer Leagues."Playing against American opposition in the SYL on a regular basis, in addition to taking part in tournaments and showcase events throughout the year provides an exciting and alternate soccer experience for our talented youth players. This experience is topped off with mentorship training with the Lynx and Lady Lynx players to further inspire and " professionalize" our young talent," adds Wilde.

Open tryouts are currently taking place across the GTA at three venues: the Oakville Sports Centre, Soccerworld at the Docks and the Markham Sports Dome.
