Ports Fans Donate Toys To Mary Graham Children's Shelter

STOCKTON, Calif. -On Monday, Ports mascot Splash made a special trip and dropped off nearly 150 new toys to the Mary Graham Children's Shelter in Stockton. The shelter cares for nearly 1,400 of the most severely abused, abandoned, and neglected children in San Joaquin County who have been placed in protective care due to abuse or lack of parental care.

Ports fans have dropped toys off at Banner Island Ballpark since the beginning of December, and Ports season ticket holders brought new toys to the holiday party at Woodbridge Winery.

"On behalf of the Human Services Agency, Children's Services, I'd like to thank the Ports for their generous donation to the Mary Graham Children's Shelter," said David Erb, Deputy Director of Children's Services for the San Joaquin County Human Services Agency. "The thoughtfulness of the Ports organization and their fans is very much appreciated. Because of the kindness of these people, the holiday season for these children will be greatly enhanced."

Ports Community Relations Manager Danielle Alt also expressed gratitude to Ports fans who made the toy drive a success.

"Once again, Ports fans have shown why they are the best around," said Alt. "We offer our deepest thanks to those who helped us improve the holiday season for those less fortunate."
