Port Huron Icehawks Asking Fans to Help Name Mini-Mascot

PORT HURON, MI - The Port Huron Icehawks are searching for a name for their new mini-mascot and need your help. Fans are encouraged to enter their suggestions for a chance to win great prizes and to join the team on the ice when the mini-mascot is revealed at the season opener on October 17th.

The mini-mascot will accompany original mascot Hawkey at all of the Icehawks home games and at appearances throughout the community.

"We are excited to introduce another mascot this season and want our fans to be involved in the naming process," Icehawks Game Day Director Kelly Carroll said. "It is a unique opportunity to put your own stamp on an aspect of Icehawks hockey."

Pick up an entry form at the Icehawks office, 325 Huron Ave., Port Huron, or email your suggestion to info@porthuronicehawks.com. All entries should include mascot name, submitters name, address and phone number. Submissions must be received by September 1. The winner will receive an Icehawks prize pack and two tickets to the 2008-09 season opener when the mascot is unveiled.

The Icehawks are also looking for an experienced skater to fill one of the mascot suits at all 38 home games. The position is paid. For more information please contact Jake Wesolek or Austin Parks at 810-966-3800.

The Icehawks open the season with a Turner Cup Finals rematch versus the Komets at home on Friday, October 17.
