MONTREAL - Two goals from Ryan Pore (45th minute) and Eduardo Sebrango (83rd minute) helped the Impact register a second consecutive win by shutout, 2-0 against the Minnesota Stars, Saturday at Saputo Stadium.

The Impact also ended a five-game home stand with a record of three wins, one loss and one tie, registering 10 points out of a possibility of 15.

"The players were focused on the work they had to do and we saw team unity today," said Impact head coach and sporting director Nick De Santis. "We worked hard for every ball, we created a lot of movement and we dictated the rhythm of the game. We must continue to play and manage the game the same way during the upcoming games on the road. We have to show up with the same mindset and with heart."

"We offered a great performance this afternoon," said Impact defender Hassoun Camara. "We respected the instructions we received and we managed the game well. It was a great collective effort."

Midfielder Ryan Pore scored the first goal of the game during the first half's stoppage time. Following a throw in from defender Simon Gatti, Mircea Ilcu dribbled towards the middle of the field before passing to Pore on the right side. Pore then beat the Stars goalkeeper Joe Warren with a low shot to the near post. It was his first career goal with the Impact.

"We have been playing well over the last few games, especially on defence, but the offence is also doing well and it has been fun scoring goals," said Pore. "We still have a long way to go to reach the playoffs, and we will do everything we can to make it."

Eduardo Sebrango scored the insurance goal at the 83rd minute. On the play, Westlake sent a long ball behind the defence to Mignane Diouf, who then centered it along the ground to the far post for Sebrango, who scored his sixth goal of the season in an open net.

Impact goalkeeper Evan Bush recorded his fifth shutout of the season after facing eight shots.

The Stars had their best scoring chance of the first half at the 32nd minute. Following a turnover by the Montreal defence, defender Justin Davis took a shot that went just over the Impact net.

At the 66th minute, Stars forward Simone Bracalello took a free kick, just outside the 18-yard box, which was stopped by Bush. Bracalello finished the game with four shots.

Head coach Nick De Santis managed his 138th career regular season game (72-32-34), becoming the all-time leader in team history, surpassing Valerio Gazzola (87-46-4), who coached the team during two stints, from 1994 to 1997 and from 2000 to 2001.

Colombian forward Miguel Montaño played his first game with the Impact, coming on the pitch at the 88th minute replacing Sebrango. Montaño joined the team Monday following a loan from the Seattle Sounders FC (MLS).

One minute later, Montaño crossed to Diouf but the Stars goalkeeper dove to make the save.

The Impact will play its next three games on the road, starting with a second consecutive game versus the Stars, on August 27, at 8pm, at the National Sports Center, in Blaine (nscminnesota.com).
