Ottawa Renegades News Release
OTTAWA â Here are the playoff scenarios for the Ottawa Renegades heading into Week 18 action of the Canadian Football League schedule. Please note that the Renegades beat the Toronto Argonauts 21-15 on Thanksgiving at Frank Clair Stadium. Ottawa wins the season series against Toronto with two wins in three games. If the teams finish the regular-season tied with the same amount of points, Ottawa would advance to the playoff round based on its winning the season series against Toronto.
The Ottawa Renegades (7-10-0) would qualify for the 2003 playoffs if any of the following were to occur:
The Toronto Argonauts (7-9-0) lose their final two games of the regular season (Oct. 17 vs. Montreal and Oct. 24 vs. Calgary). The Argonauts lose one of their final two regular-season games (and win or tie the other) and the Renegades beat Montreal (Oct. 26 @ Montreal) in the final Canadian Football League regular-season game. The Argonauts lose one of their final two regular-season games and tie the other and the Renegades tie Montreal. The Argonauts tie both their final two regular-season games and the Renegades beat Montreal.
The Renegades would be eliminated from the 2003 playoffs if any of the following were to occur:
The Argonauts win their final two games of the regular season (Oct. 17 vs. Montreal and Oct. 24 vs. Calgary). The Argonauts win one of their final regular-season games and tie the other.
Here is the remaining schedule of the 2003 CFL season for Ottawa, Toronto and Saskatchewan:
Ottawa (1 game remaining): Oct. 26 @ Montreal.
Toronto (2 games remaining): Oct. 17 vs. Montreal; Oct. 24 vs. Calgary.
Please Note: The Renegades nor the Argonauts can qualify for the 2003 CFL playoffs by finishing third in the East Division. The Saskatchewan Roughriders defeated the Calgary Stampeders 24-22 on Monday, clinching a CFL "crossover" playoff berth.
