Playoff Picture Gets Clearer, Ravens Get Three All-Stars

As of Friday, the New Haven Ravens have a 1.5 game lead on the Binghamton Mets for the final playoff spot in the Northern Division. Norwich (Yankees) has clinched first place. Should the Ravens make the playoffs, games one and two of the Northern Division Championship Series would be at Norwich. Game three and game four (if necessary) would be at historic Yale Field on Friday September 6 and Saturday September 7. Game five (if necessary) would be at Norwich on Sunday September 7. The final regular season homestand runs from Friday August 30 through Monday September 2 against the Boston Red Sox affiliate Trenton Thunder. Friday (7:05; gates open at 6:05) is a player photo giveaway of Cristobal Correa courtesy of the Connecticut Department of Transportation. Saturday (7:05; gates open at 6:05) is the final fireworks show of the year, sponsored by WPLR and the New Haven Register. Sunday (1:05; gates open at 12:05) is a Giveaway Sunday and Monday (4:05; gates open at 3:05) is Fan Appreciation Day and a MotoPhoto Monday Player Photo Giveaway (Jake Weber). Please note that General Admission seats are SOLD OUT for all four games, and Reserved Seats are SOLD OUT for Monday. Luxury Box and Box Seats are still available. The New Haven Ravens landed three players on the Eastern League All-Star squad, the most of any team in the league. RP Matt Duff, DH John Gall, and OF Dee Haynes all were honored. Duff has struck out 88 batters and walked just 20 in 63 innings, earning a brief promotion to St. Louis along the way. Gall has set the team record for hits (161), doubles (45), and extra-base hits (66) in a season. Haynes is among the league leaders in each of the Triple Crown categories with a .311 batting average (5th), 21 homeruns (2nd) and 97 RBIs (1st).
