Player Spotlight: Daron Clark

Wide receiver, Daron Clark, rejoins the Edge after playing the last two seasons with the Richmond Raiders. Clark last played for the Edge in 2013 and is excited about his return, "First I want to thank God, my family, the Bloomington coaching staff, and the 9th man...the fans", said Daron "Speedy" Clark. " I am very excited about being back in Bloomington. I love the organization and the coaching staff."

Clark was a 4 year All Conference receiver and return man at Stillman College, having recorded 108 receptions and 29 TD's. He was invited to University of Alabama Pro Day, where he ran a 4.33 in the forty yard dash.

"Music is my passion. I am very good at making beats and writing music, " said Clark.

2000-2004: Played Georgia high school football( 5A), basketball, and track and field. He was awarded MVP and attended state finals

2005-2009: Stillman College(NCAA Division II) 1st Team All Conference honors 4 years. Clark holds the record for receiving touchdowns. He is also the first football player from Stillman College to go into professional football.

2009: Attended a NFL minicamp for the Browns, UFL New York Sentinels

Personal Bio:

Born September 21, 1985, Clark grew up near Atlanta GA in the Vine City Community, which is where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. grew up as well. He also attended the same high school, Booker T. Washington. Clark earned the "Beat the Odds Award" in Atlanta.

" I lost my brother to a house fire on Christmas in 1997, and was shot in my leg at the age of 13 the following year," said Clark. "God blessed me to be able to walk again and to become one of the best athletes to come out of my community." He was the first member of his family to receive a college scholarship.

Clark's mother, Charlotte Stallings and father Daron Clark Sr. live in the Atlanta area.

"My mother is my heart and soul. She raised me to be a great man," said Clark. "My father , Daron Clark Sr., also taught me to be a good man, and taught me how to be good with computers."

Final thoughts:

"I have a chip on my shoulder so my number one goal is to win the championship ," said Clark. "We are going to put the pieces together in training camp and bring the championship to Bloomington."
