Name: Curtis Simonson

The Details: Simonson is from Grand Rapids, Minnesota where he played his high school hockey for the Thunderhawks. He played last season with the Coulee Region Chill, a North American Hockey League, Midwest Division rival of the Magicians. In 28 games with the Chill, the hard-nosed defenseman registered 4 points and 60 penalty minutes. Simonson was acquired by the Magicians in a trade with Coulee Region in August.

Did You Know: During his senior season at Grand Rapids High School, Simonson was a participant in Hockey Day Minnesota when his hometown hosted the event and the Thunderhawks battled the Benilde-St Margaret's Red Knights on Pokegama Lake.
