Pittsburgh Power News Release
Pittsburgh, PA - (November 1, 2010) The Pittsburgh Power today announced the signing of 15 new Players to its inaugural 2011 roster. The Players include Pittsburgh native Anthony Morelli, former-NFL kicker Paul Edinger, AFL veteran Terrance Carter, as well as local stars Kenny Lewis of Penn Hills and Mike Washington of Aliquippa. Four of the players signed, Morelli, Washington, Tyrrell Herbert and Richi Anderson, attended the Power's open tryouts last month.
"Adding this mix of experienced and rising talent will help us build depth as we head into our training camp in February,"Â commented Owner and General Manager Matt Shaner. Co-owner Lynn Swann also remarked "this is a great opportunity for these young men to make their mark here in Pittsburgh."
Coach Siegfried spoke on the need to build competition at each position. "Competition to make the team and then to gain playing time is needed for any team to reach it's maximum potential. We feel like we are off to a good start in creating that environment."
