PITTSBURG, Calif. - The Pittsburg Diamonds announced Sunday that all veterans will be welcomed to the Fourth of July game at Winter Chevrolet Stadium free of charge as part of a salute to the Armed Forces.
The Diamonds are encouraging veterans to wear all or part of their old military uniforms to the game to enhance the Armed Forces Night atmosphere.
"We can never really fully thank our veterans for putting their lives on the line to protect our freedom," said Diamonds owner Khurram Shah, "but we do want to give a small thank you by welcoming them for no charge on Independence Day."
The game against the Martinez Clippers will is set for 6 p.m. at Winter Chevrolet Stadium in Pittsburg City Park.
