Lancaster JetHawks News Release

(LANCASTER, CA) - The Lancaster JetHawks used the formula that had been working against the Bakersfield Blaze to win the getaway game. They got strong pitching, and just enough offense as a Chih-Hsien Chiang home run put the JetHawks ahead in the seventh inning, leading to a 4-2 win. Lancaster gets back to .500 (9-9) and are now 7-4 on the road.

Lancaster led in the second inning on a solo home run by Dennis Blackmon. They extended the lead to twowith three straight singles and an error to score Jason Place in the fifth. Meanwhile, Tony Bajoczky cruised through the first four innings of his start without allowing a hit. He found some trouble in the fifth inning and allowed two runs to tie the game, taking a no-decision.

The JetHawks bullpen did not allow a hit the rest of the way, with Carlos Vasquez throwing two perfect innings for the win and T.J. Large two scoreless, hitless frames for his first save. Lancaster had taken the lead back on Chih-Hsien Chiang's home run to start the seventh inning.

Chiang has now hit safely in nine consecutive games, with two hits Sunday. Blackmon also notched two hits, while Lars Anderson, Jon Still, and Mickey Hall each walked twice.
