
Both Teams Rally, Blaze Strike Last for 8-5 Win

(LANCASTER, CA) - The tables turned in game three of the series between the JetHawks and the Bakersfield Blaze. After out-hitting the Blaze 17-8 in the first two games, both Lancaster wins, Bakersfield erupted for 15 hits, holding the JetHawks to seven, and they edged out Lancaster 8-5.
The Blaze jumped out early for three runs in the first inning. Lancaster chipped away with two in the third and took the lead in the fifth inning on a RBI single by Jon Still and a sacrifice fly by Dennis Blackmon.
The rallying started once both team went to their bullpens. The Blaze regained the lead in the seventh inning by scoring twice. Lancaster came up with a rally of their own. A pair of walks set up
Jason Place , who singled into right field, scoring Matt Sheely and tying the game at five.
The tie did not last long. The Blaze got back-to-back one-out singles against Blake Maxwell. Second baseman Jose Vallejo then just cleared the left-field wall for a three-run homer to give the Blaze the win.
Place and Jon Still each had two hits in the loss. Chih-Hsien Chiang extended his hit streak to eight with a single, but Jorge Jimenez saw his ten-game hit streak come to an end on a pinch-hit appearance.
The JetHawks continue their seven-game road trip Sunday afternoon at Bakersfield. Jimmy James (2-0) will start for Lancaster against Blaze pitcher Omar Poveda (0-0). The game starts at 1:15 with the pre-game show on Magic 1340 and www.JetHawks.com beginning at 1:00.
