
Pistons Back in School Initiative to Visit Local Schools

AUBURN HILLS, MI - As part of the Detroit Pistons' Back in School. Back to Work. initiative, WNBA Detroit Shock Forward Swin Cash and Palace Sports and Entertainment Year Round Hoops Director Aaron Smith will bring a special life and basketball skills assembly to Thompson Middle School from 10-11 a.m. and to Trix Elementary School from 1-2 p.m. on Friday, March 24th. Thompson Middle School is located at 16300 Lincoln Drive in Southfield and Trix Elementary School is located at 13700 Brigard Street in Detroit.
Cash and Smith will deliver an interactive assembly designed to help teach life skills and provide a positive message for students. The assembly will last 45 minutes and will feature a life skills message and interactive shooting activities. After the assembly, students will receive a Ben Wallace bookmark as a reminder of how important education and hard work is. The Detroit Shock will begin their hard work this summer when they tip-off the 2006 WNBA season on Saturday, May 20th at 7:00 p.m. against Tamika Catchings and the Indiana Fever at Conseco Fieldhouse. The Shock will open at home on Wednesday, May 24th vs. the Minnesota Lynx at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
