Pioneer Baseball League Announces PBL Players of the Week for Week 5

The Pioneer Baseball League presented by TicketSmarter today announced the "PBL Players of the Week" for Week 5. A pitcher and position player are selected each week from both the North and South Divisions of the league. Week 5's selections are highlighted below:

North Division:

Jean Correa - Pitcher, Billings Mustangs: Jean Correa pitched a gem of a game against the Boise Hawks, in which he carried a no-hit bid into the eighth inning. A crowd of 2,103 fans gave Correa a nice round of applause when he existed the game. Correa ended up with the win and ended his game only allowing one hit while striking out four batters in his masterpiece of a performance.

Brandon Riley - Outfielder, Missoula PaddleHeads: Brandon Riley provided the Missoula PaddleHeads with a tremendous spark with his bat. The PaddleHeads have now moved into sole possession of first place in the North Division and Riley is a key factor! In six games last week Riley hit for a batting average of .429 while raking two triples and four doubles, while driving in nine runners along with scoring eight runs himself.

South Division:

Yohandry Perez - Pitcher, Rocky Mountain Vibes: Yohandry Perez led the commencement of the effort to turn the Rocky Mountain Vibes' season around last week. Perez took the mound and pitched a gem, as he recorded a win with eight strike outs over six and 2/3 innings. Perez looks forward to keeping up with his high strike out ratio for the rest of the season and is likely to remain a major force on the mound for the Vibes!

Charles Middleton - Outfielder, Grand Junction Rockies: Charles Middleton brought his power to plate last week! Middleton smacked two homeruns, recorded six RBIs, and batted for a solid average of .379 over eight games for the Grand Junction Rockies. Middleton is adjusting well to Pro Baseball and looks forward to continuing his solid play!
