
Pierson Undergoes Successful Surgical Procedure

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - The Detroit Shock announced today that 6-foot-2 forward Plenette Pierson underwent a successful surgical procedure performed by Dr. Stephen Lemos to repair right shoulder instability. The procedure was performed at the Detroit Medical Center Surgery Hospital.
Pierson is expected to miss the remainder of the 2009 WNBA season.
Pierson, the 2007 Sixth Woman of the Year, was injured in the Shock's season opener at Los Angeles on June 6, 2009.
