
Piasa Win Two Over Weekend

Over the weekend, the Illinois Piasa of the PASL won both games of their two game road trip to Ohio to propel themselves out of last place and into the 4th spot. The wins also put the Piasa just 3 games behind first place Detroit with 8 games remaining.
In Friday night's game, it was Jon Fridal and Blake Ordell who helped lead the team to an 8-3 victory, with both players scoring 2 goals each. Elvir Kafedzic also added a goal and 2 assists in the win. GK Greg Crook even got into the action scoring on an open goal in the 1st half.
Saturday night was much of the same for the Piasa as they came out firing on all cylinders and never let up. Roger Gemoules was the hero of the night as he scored 4 goals. Jon Fridal also scored 2 goals and had 1 assist and Justin Judiscak added 1 goal and assisted on 2. The final score of the night was 9-5 in favor of the Piasa.
Overall the team left Ohio with Jon Fridal scoring 4 goals and 1 assist and Roger Gemoules with 4 goals of his own. Blake Ordell scored 3 goals over the weekend and Tim Vance scored 2 goals and had 1 assist. Other goal scorers included Justin Judiscak, who also added 2 assists, Elvir Kafedzic, Justin McMillan and Greg Crook. Elvir Kafedzic and Roger Gemoules are both now in the top 10 in the league in scoring.
The Piasa will now take a few weeks off in their schedule before they go back on the road, starting on January 7 when they play at Louisville at 6:30pm. The following day, the team travels north to Detroit to play an afternoon game against the Waza.
