Phoenix Wolves Shock Charlotte Eagles

The Charlotte Eagles flat first half gave the Phoenix FC Wolves a 3-0 lead, with goals coming from Robert Paul and Donald Toia. Cameron Vickers added one in the 83rd minute to give the Wolves the 4-0 victory over the Eagles.

The Charlotte Eagles had a rough start, Saturday night. The Phoenix FC Wolves struck first in the 18th minute. Paul collected a cross in the box from Isaiah Schafer and found the back of the net. Toia made it 2-0 off a set piece just four minutes later in the 22nd minute.

Paul got his second goal of the night with a great shot on goal in the 32nd minute. Thomas Ramos had the assist.

The first half was all Wolves as the Eagles tried to find their footing.

With significant roster changes in the second half the Eagles began the second half with much more vigor. With the Eagles having 14 shots, all in the second half, Neal Kitson, Phoenix' keeper, rose to the challenge protecting his shutout.

Cameron Vickers added Phoenix' fourth goal in the 83rd minute off a quick counterattack.

The Charlotte Eagles are back in action Friday night, August 2, 2013. They will host the Richmond Kickers at 7:00 PM at Queens Sports Complex.
