Phoenix Rising FC News Release
Phoenix Rising FC and America First Credit Union today announced the return of the "Goals for Good" initiative, which will donate $100 to a local nonprofit organization for every goal scored during the 2026 USL Championship regular season.
"We're always looking for ways to connect what happens on the field to something bigger in our community," said Rising Vice President of Business Operations, Joey Castor. "America First Credit Union has been a strong partner that values investing in the local community, and we're proud to continue building on 'Goals for Good' and supporting organizations doing important work across the Valley."
Now in its second season, the initiative builds on a successful 2025 campaign in which America First donated $4,500 to United Food Bank through "Goals for Good." For the 2026 season, fans will have the opportunity to nominate local nonprofit organizations for consideration on phxrisingfc.com/community/goals-for-good/ with the selected recipient to be announced at midseason.
"America First is thrilled to continue our partnership with Phoenix Rising FC this season, and we're eager to see which organizations Rising fans would like to support," said Thayne Shaffer, President and CEO at America First Credit Union. "We're deeply grateful for this opportunity and others like it. Seeking out these kinds of collaborations allows us to make a greater impact in the communities we serve and gives us the chance to help strengthen the charitable efforts of other engaged groups."
Through four weeks of the 2026 season, America First has already donated $500 thanks to five goals scored by Rising. At the end of the regular season, Rising and America First will present a check to the selected non-profit organization.
