PHOENIX FC SIGNS FIVE MORE PLAYERS FOR INAUGURAL SEASON
Phoenix, ARIZ. (Feb. 4, 2013) - In time for the February 11 opening of pre-season training camp, Phoenix FC has signed several players to the club's roster. The newly signed players, pending USSF approval, are (click the highlighted names for more information):
* Renan Felipe Boufleur - Defender CVJ86VmmtQ=] * Joao Inacio de Jesus Cerqueria (known as Netinho) - Midfielder nJJ9uWomoA=] * Cyprian Hedrick - Defender 2z49FsN1Wc=] * Scott Morrison - Defender O5o-NLDX2Q=] * Anthony Obodai - Midfielder MPtOo7QpH8=]
"With Boufleur, Netinho and Cyprian, we fulfill our goal of adding young, promising talent to our roster and all of us are looking forward to seeing these guys on the pitch at training camp," said Managing Director Rui Filipe Bento.
Head Coach David Robertson, an Aberdeen FC legend, tapped his resources to attract Morrison to play stateside. "Both Morrison and Obodai have a wealth of experience playing international soccer that will benefit the club as a whole. Obodai had a taste of MLS very recently with the Houston Dynamo and we expect both of them to excel because of their First Division playing experience in Europe. Also, pairing Morrison with Mackie will delight our fans," remarked Robertson.
These new additions join signed players Striker Darren Mackie, Midfielder Diego Faria, Defender Devon Grousis, Forward Aaron King, Midfielder Reid Schmitt and Defender Brad Keller.
