Phoenix FC News Release

PHOENIX, Ariz. (May 6, 2013) - The Phoenix FC Wolves embark on their first extended road trip of the season to play the Pittsburgh Riverhounds at picturesque Highmark Stadium on Thursday, May 9, and the Dayton Dutch Lions on Saturday, May 11 in Ohio.

Game times are 4 p.m. Arizona time at Pittsburgh and 4:30 p.m. at Dayton.

Phoenix FC (2-3-2) is coming off a 1-1 draw against Pittsburgh on May 3 at Sun Devil Soccer Stadium. The match saw the Wolves' Donny Toia record his first goal of the season. Phoenix FC has a win and another draw in its two matches prior to last Friday and hasn't lost since April 14 against Los Angeles.

The Wolves are close to full strength, with goalkeeper Andrew Weber and defender Renan Boufleur having returned from red card suspensions for last week's match. The team is still missing forward Darren Mackie because of a groin injury. Forward Travis Bowen sat out the first Pittsburgh match with a groin strain but is expected to be available to play on the trip.

Pittsburgh (0-4-3, 3 points) has yet to pick up a victory but got a key draw against the Wolves and drew with the L.A. Blues 0-0 on Sunday. Andrew Marshall scored the Riverhounds' lone goal against Phoenix FC after they trailed 1-0 until the 79th minute.

The Riverhounds' forward tandem of Jose Angulo and Jhonny Arteaga are former MLS New York Red Bulls players. Angulo has one of the club's three goals this season.

Goalkeeper Hunter Gilstrap recorded his second clean sheet of the season.

Dayton (2-2) is tied for the fewest matches played so far this season. The Dutch Lions dropped a home match to the Charleston Battery last Friday, 1-0, at Beavercreek Stadium.

Midfielder Remco Klaasse, 24, played for top amateur side HBS in The Netherlands last season and has one of Dayton's three goals as a team. Four players, including goalkeeper Matthew Williams, have played every minute of every match this season.

Williams allows and average of 1.5 goals per game.
