PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Soul and General Manager Rich Lisk have reformed the front office for the upcoming 2007 season. They have promoted Gina-Maria Leone to Chief Financial Official (CFO), Brian Sternberg to be the Director of Communications, Heather Poole to Director of Marketing/Community Relations and Mark Wasson to Group Sales Manager. The Soul also promoted Mark Evans, Jason Freedman and Nick Valentino to Account Executives and hired Jarrod Hill as an Account Executive and Sara Peters as the Office Manager.
Leone was named the team's CFO after being the organization's controller. Her responsibilities consist of all the organizations finances including team travel and player housing to go along with the organization's human resources. She works along with head coach Bret Munsey and General Manager Rich Lisk to ensure salary cap compliance for the team is regulated. Leone also works with each department to help maintain the integrity of the accounting records and their individual budgets. The 2007 season will be the fourth season she has been with the Soul.
Sternberg enters his fifth season in the Arena Football League and first as the director of communications. He was promoted after serving as the Soul's communications/community relations manager for the 2006 season. Prior to joining the Soul, he worked with the Las Vegas Gladiators as their media relations coordinator for three seasons. Sternberg will serve as the club's liaison between the national and local media and Soul players, coaching staff and administration. He will also maintain the philadelphiasoul.com website with daily reporting of team news, feature writing and web page content.
Poole takes on the responsibilities of director of marketing/community relations after spending the 2006 season as the group sales manager. She began working with the Soul in 2003 as an account executive and will maintain the team's outreach in the community as well as branding the Philadelphia Soul in the Tri-State area. Prior to joining the Soul, Poole spent time with both the Philadelphia Charge woman's soccer team and the Philadelphia 76ers as a ticket account executive.
Wasson has progressed in each of his three seasons with the Soul and is now the organization's group sales manager. He will work closely with the director of ticket sales, manage all aspects of group sales and head the ticket sales staffs' day-to-day assignments. During the inaugural season, he came on as a volunteer and assisted in the sales department before being hired `as an account executive for the 2005 season. This past season, Wasson was a senior account executive.
