Philadelphia Soul announce roster moves

PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia Soul of the Arena Football League has announced they have acquired wide receiver/defensive back DeAuntae Brown in a trade with the Grand Rapids Rampage for a future consideration. The team also announced they have released wide receiver/linebacker Kevin Mason and offensive/defensive linemen Ken Bouie and Joe Wylie.

Brown ranked fifth on the Rampage last season in tackles despite playing in only seven games before suffering a season ending shoulder injury. The first pick in the 2003 dispersal draft, Brown began the 2003 season with the Dallas Desperados.

The Soul will host the New York Dragons in their second preseason scrimmage of the season this Wednesday, January 24th at 7 p.m. Prior to the scrimmage the Soul will be holding media day from 5-6 p.m., every coach and player, as well as co-owners Craig A. Spencer and Jon Bon Jovi, will be available for comment.

The Soul will also be holding a pep rally for season ticket holders on Thursday, January 29th. Doors open for the pep rally at 7 p.m. The pep rally begins at 8:00 p.m. followed by a performance by Bon Jovi. This event WILL BE open to all media members.

The Soul have opened their training camp for the 2004 season and will open the season at home against New Orleans on February 8th at 3 p.m. Season ticket plans are on sale now and can be purchased for as low as $80. For more information on season tickets call 1-888-PHIL-AFL.
