Toronto Phantoms News Release
Uniondale, NY: Luke Leverson scored a pair of 4th quarter touchdowns to lead the visiting Toronto Phantoms in a 63-38 win over the New York Dragons. Leverson, who finished the game with 7 catches for 103 yards, earned the nod as Ironman (top two-way player) for the 2nd consecutive week.
Toronto's outstanding offensive specialist Damian Harrell was named as the MVP after making 8 catches for 90 yards and scoring the game-winning touchdown.
Danny Kannell of the Dragons had a frustrating night in his first career start as an AFL quarterback. The former NFL pivot was goaded into 4 interceptions by Toronto's defence. Toronto's two defensive specialists, Charlie Davidson and Anthony Derricks, finished the game with 2 interceptions apiece.
Toronto snaps a 2-game losing streak with the win, improving its record to 4-3 overall and 2-2 on the road.
