AUBURN HILLS, MICH. (June 1, 2002) --- Donnie Davis completed 22-of-33 passes for 204 yards and Jarric Hillery scored two touchdowns as the Georgia Force knocked off the Detroit Fury 49-34 Saturday night at the Palace of Auburn Hills. Detroit dropped to 1-6 while the Force climbed to 2-5.

Fury starting quarterback Drew Miller went down on the second play of the game, re-injuring his left ankle he sprained last week in New York against the Dragons. Charles Puleri replaced Miller and finished the game going 16-of-35 for 266 yards and three TDs. Ty Grovesteen led the way for Detroit in receiving with 117 yards and two touchdowns.

Georgia never trailed in the game, outscoring the Fury 28-7 in the first half. Michigan State University alum Travis Reece scored the game's opening TD off a four-yard run at 10:37. Georgia tallied three rushing touchdowns on the night and just two in the air.

The Fury was able to get to Davis as R-Kal Truluck recorded three sacks on the night, bringing his total to six on the season, and Kelvin Kinney added one as well. Last year Truluck was second in the league with 8.5 sacks and was awarded AFL's Rookie of the Year for his efforts.

The Fury's next game is at the Allstate Arena in Chicago next Saturday against the Rush at 8:00 PM (EST). The Force play host to the Toronto Phantoms next Sunday at Philips Arena in Atlanta.
