BOARDMAN, Ohio- Day Two of the Mahoning Valley Phantoms invitational tryout camp featured a pair of games with opposite results.

In Friday afternoon's match-up, Team White # 2 blew a 5-2 lead before winning 6-5 over Team Orange #1.

For Team White, Philip Peters scored twice and Dustin Hopfner scored once and added two assists. Spencer Jordan, Freddie Burnham and Lee McClure each scored single tallies for the winners.

Nicholas Rostek, Kyle Stansik, Dan Spuller and Canfield native J.D. Howard each contributed one assist for Team White.

Team Orange was led by Chad Murphy's two goals and single scores by Matthew Cook, Nate Baumbick and Kyle Kaefer.

Andy Cramer recorded two assists while Alex Lippincott, Brad Stefanski, Kaefer, Ryan Clark and James Poston each claimed one helper.

For the game, Team Orange outshot Team White 43-34. On the power play, Team Orange was 2 for 4 and Team White finished 0 for 1.

Team White starting goaltender Shane Talarico stopped all 13 shots he faced. In the second period, Tom Lescovich was 15 for 19 in his save opportunities and Tyler Ross blocked 10 of 11 third period chances.

For Team Orange, Kyle Richards made 18 saves on 20 shots while Garrett Beckwith deflected 10 of 14 shots in relief midway through the game.

In the nightcap, Team Orange # 3 spotted Team White # 4 a 2-0 first period lead before storming back for a 6-2 win.

Team White scored their goals two minutes apart. Billy Allen opened the scoring at 12:18 on assists by Justin Cormack and Jordan Sims. With 5:42 left in the period, Jason Simota scored shorthanded but his team would be denied for the rest of the game.

Grant Blakey cut the deficit to 2-1 with a feed from Brian McGinty with 2:14 left in the opening period. Team Orange forged ahead with a three-goal second period.

John Houston tied the game at the 4:15 mark of the second period with a power play goal from the right point with assists from Zack Barbis and Naaman Moorman.

Moorman scored the go-ahead goal at 9:43 as David Ellis and Frank Chiapperino were credited with helpers.

With an assist from Brian McGinty, Robert Harrison scored from the goal line with 2.7 seconds left to make it a 4-2 Orange lead after 40 minutes.

In the third period, Blakey notched his second goal at 3:15 from a pass by Andrew Tate. Moorman completed his three-point night with his second goal with 3:35 left in regulation. Chiapperino and Alden Hirschfeld received the assists.

Team Orange outshot Team White 43-30. Team Orange was 1 for 5 on the power play while Team White finished 0 for 5.

For Team White in goal, Stefan Shively was 21 for 24 in his save chances. In relief, Johnny Morrow was good on 16 of the 19 shots he faced.

For Team Orange, Jordan Tibbett allowed two goals on 10 shots, while Garrett Bartus stopped all 19 shots he faced in net. In two games, Bartus has blocked all 39 shots he has faced.
