Perry Patterson Latest Addition to Chicago Slaughter

HOFFMAN ESTATES - The Chicago Slaughter announced today the signing of quarterback Perry Patterson from Syracuse University. Patterson played for the Orange from 2003 through 2006 and finished in the in the top 5 at Syracuse for career passing yardage, completions, completion percentage, and passing TDs.

Upon leaving Syrcause, Patterson went undrafted but signed with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2007. He was released and had tryouts with both the Buffalo Bills and Atlanta Falcons, but neither yielded a contract offer. Patterson began his Arena Football League career with the Columbus Destroyers and Dallas Desperados before landing with the Rochester Raiders of the Indoor Football League where he threw for 4,603 yards and 102 TDs in his two years with the team. Last season Patterson made his way to Europe to play for the Zurich Renegades before coming back to the IFL to join the Chicago Slaughter.

"Perry has been on our radar for a couple of years now," Chicago Slaughter Offensive Coordinator Pat Pistorio said. "We are looking forward to bringing someone in with his track record as an indoor football league player; it will be a huge plus for our organization."

The Chicago Slaughter, a member of the professional Indoor Football League, opens its sixth season at home at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates on February 19, 2012 with the IFL Kickoff Classic against in-state rival the Bloomington Extreme.
