Manchester Wolves News Release

The arenafootball2 league office announced today that offensive specialist/kick returner Jamaal Perry has been awarded Week Two's "Cutters Catch of the Week" for his spectacular touchdown grab against the Green Bay Blizzard last Friday in front of 7,531 fans on Brady Sullivan Field at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, N.H.

This new award is a weekly honor that has emerged in 2006 to highlight the player who makes the best catch of the week. Perry's touchdown grab came in the fourth quarter on a 24-yard pass from D. Bryant that bounced off his hands, hit the endzone wall, and then landed back into his grasp.

Perry, a Hofstra graduate, led all Wolves receivers with a game-high 10 catches on the night for a team-high 99yards.

"He was one of our top receivers last year after J.J. McKelvey," Wolves Head Coach Ben Bennett said. "With J.J. gone and some experience under his belt, I think he'll make an even bigger impact as his role expands this year in our offense."

Perry (5-9, 175) played a starring role as a rookie for the Wolves' 2005 East Division Championship team, where he led the team with 2,132 all-purpose yards, ranking him eighth in the af2. The Marietta, Ga. native played in all 17 games last season, and further established himself as a team leader by ranking second in both receptions (91) and receiving yards (1,004), as well as third in receiving touchdowns with 12.

The Wolves take on the Louisville Fire at Freedom Hall in Kentucky this Friday, April 14, at 7:30 P.M. Wolves fans can listen to all the action live on WFEA AM1370 as Dick Lutsk will be providing the game's play-by-play. Manchester's all-time series record against Louisville is tied at 2-2, after the Fire knocked out the Wolves in the second round of the American Conference playoffs, 69-56, on August 12, 2005 in Manchester, N.H.

Manchester returns home on Saturday April 22, at 7:30 P.M. against the Albany Conquest for Touchdown Towel Night!!
