Peoria's Chris Wilson Named Easton Player of the Month

March 2, 2016 - SPHL (SPHL) News Release

HUNTERSVILLE, NC - The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) on Wednesday announced Chris Wilson of the Peoria Rivermen is the Easton Player of the Month for February.

Wilson recorded at least one goal in each of Peoria's eight games in February, totaling 10 goals (two game-winners) and adding three assists to help the Rivermen maintain their hold on first place in the standings. Throughout the league, only four players had more points than Wilson had goals last month.

Wilson's eight-game goal streak is currently tied for third-longest in league history while his nine-game point streak (10g, 4a) is longest in the SPHL this season. Wilson, who was the league's Rookie of the Year in 2010-11, ranks second in the SPHL in plus-minus (+25), fifth in goals (20) and sixth in points (39). On February 2, 2012, the Prince Albert, Saskatchewan native etched his name in the record books by scoring five goals in Pensacola's 8-1 win at Fayetteville, becoming only the third player at that time to do so.
