
Pennsylvania Rebellion Select Miranda Kramer with their First Overall Pick

Washington, PA-April 2, 2014-The Pennsylvania Rebellion continued to make history in the National Pro Fastpitch League by selecting Western Kentucky pitcher Miranda Kramer with their first overall pick in the 2015 NPF Draft. Kramer who was selected sixth overall in the NPF Draft becomes the first ever Hilltopper drafted by a NPF team.
The southpaw leads the nation in strikeouts per innings at 13.8 and is tied for first with seven shutouts. The West Burlington, Iowa native has received four Conference USA Pitcher of the Week honors, the most of any player in C-USA, and ranks third amongst her fellow conference pitchers with 207 strikeouts. The WKU senior racked up 19 strikeouts, tied for second most in the C-USA and hurled a no-hitter, the eighth no-no in Hilltopper history, in an opening weekend series against Troy.
Kramer is the NCAA's active career leader with 972 strikeouts and 10.74 strikeouts in seven innings. She leads the nation in strikeouts per seven innings at 13.8 and is tied for first with seven shutouts. Kramer is also fourth in hits allowed per seven innings (3.19) and tenth in ERA (1.06).
Prior to her time with the Hilltoppers, Kramer pitched three seasons at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne. At IPFW, Kramer was awarded the 2014 Summit League Pitcher of the Year, a 2014 NFCA All-Region Second Team honor and recorded 764 career strikeouts and a career 1.89 ERA. In 2014, the junior registered 332 strikeouts on the season, the second most in Summit League history and finished the year with a 20-10 record and a 1.93 ERA in 202.2 innings of work.
Kramer will join former Hilltopper Olivia Watkins on the Rebellion roster. Watkins, a speedy infielder and graduate of WKU, signed with the Akron Racers as a free-agent in 2014 and was acquired by Pennsylvania in the offseason.
