Pee Dee's Geronazzo Suspended
April 25, 2002 - ECHL (ECHL) News Release
PRINCETON, N.J. - The East Coast Hockey League announced on Thursday that, following a thorough investigation, Pee Dee forward Peter Geronazzo has been suspended indefinitely for his actions in ECHL Playoff Game # N-4 against Greenville on April 17.
During regulation play and prior to overtime, Geronazzo confronted and verbally threatened a game official.
"Abuse of officials, whether verbal and physical, will not be tolerated by the East Coast Hockey League," said Troy Ward, Senior Vice President of Hockey Operations.
If Geronazzo wishes to resume his playing career in the ECHL he must request reinstatement and attend a hearing with ECHL representatives. If Mr. Geronazzo is reinstated as a player he will be subject to a suspension and must pay an undisclosed fine.
