April 26, 2007 - South Coast League (SCL)
South Georgia Peanuts News Release

The South Georgia Peanuts Professional Baseball Club, presented by Security Bank, has announced an agreement with MaggieMoos Ice Cream and Treatery. MaggieMoos will serve as the official sponsor for birthday parties at the ballpark.

"From the beginning, we have wanted Peanuts games to be the place to be for families and children in the area," Peanuts GM Keith Michlig said. "With the help of MaggieMoos, having a birthday party at a Peanuts game is going to be something kids never forget."

The birthday party package that the Peanuts are offering includes the birthday child's name announced over the public address system with "Happy Birthday" sung to them by the entire crowd. The birthday child will also receive an autographed baseball and a possible opportunity to throw out a first pitch. Each party guest receives a voucher to enter the "Peanuts Kids Zone" in addition to a hot dog, chips and a drink. The Peanuts mascot, Goober, will come down to visit the party at some point during the game. On select nights, Goober will bring Maggie, the MaggieMoos mascot, along with him. The Peanuts and MaggieMoos will also provide a birthday cake. The package includes admission to the game and party for ten people with the opportunity to add more people for an extra charge.

"We are excited about the Peanuts being in town and baseball being back in Albany," local MaggieMoos owner Lew Culpepper said. "This gives us a great opportunity to showcase both ourselves and the Peanuts. We feel great about both of our products and being part of the birthday package is a great way to show off each product."

MaggieMoos in Albany is located at 2725-2 Dawson Road. MaggieMoos is the only national retail chain to win five Blue Ribbon Awards from the National Ice Cream Retailer's Association. The winning flavors are Vanilla, Vanilla Bean, Chocolate, Dark Chocolate, and Strawberry. They pride themselves on the finest ingredients and make their ice cream on a local level at every store. In addition to their ice cream, they offer smoothies, milkshakes, cakes, treats and more.

The Peanuts are getting set for their inaugural season. All home games will be played at the Paul Eames Sports Complex. Peanuts tickets are currently on sale by contacting the team office at (229) 435-8900! The Peanuts home opener is scheduled for May 24 against the Charlotte County Redfish.
