Peanuts Add Three Home Dates
June 19, 2007 - South Coast League (SCL)
South Georgia Peanuts News Release
The South Georgia Peanuts, presented by Security Bank, are pleased to announce an additional three dates with five games to be played at Paul Eames Park. Due to scheduling issues in Bradenton, Florida, the "Juice" has been forced to move some of their previously scheduled home games. The three-game series scheduled to be played in Bradenton from July 5-7 has been moved to Albany. Additionally, the teams will play double-headers on the fifth and sixth to make-up games that were rained out the first week of June.
"Obviously we are very excited that we get to add even more home dates," Peanuts GM Keith Michlig said. "We have been so happy with the way Peanuts fans have already supported this team in the first month of the season, this is great that our fans get the opportunity to attend even more games."
Peanuts season ticket holders will have these games added to their ticket package at no extra charge. Season ticket holders will need to come to the Peanuts box office to pick up the additional tickets. The tickets will be ready for pick-up beginning on July 1st.
The double-headers on the fifth and sixth will begin at 6:10. Per South Coast League rules, the teams will play two seven inning games with a 20-30 minute break in between the contests. The games will be played as Bradenton home games with the "Juice" getting to bat in the bottom of the innings.
Promotional activities are still being coordinated by the Peanuts front office. "Thirsty Thursday", presented by The Lee County Ledger, Rock 103 and News-Talk 1590, is still scheduled for the fifth while promotions for the sixth and seventh are still tentative.
Tickets will be available to purchase for these games beginning on July 1st. Season tickets are still available at a prorated price for the rest of the season. For more information or to purchase tickets, fans can call (229) 435-8900 or log on to southgeorgiapeanuts.com.
The Peanuts are currently finishing up a home stand with games both tonight and Wednesday night. The team will hit the road for a week before returning home for 15 consecutive home games between June 28 and July 14. South Georgia Peanuts...One Shell of a Good Time!
