Patterson Named NLL Defensive Player of the Week

Nick Patterson, Swarm Goaltender, was named Week 16 Defensive Player of the Week by the NLL for his performance in an 11-8 victory over the Philadelphia Wings on Friday night. Patterson tallied 47 saves and allowed only eight goals in the victory at Wachovia Center. The win clinched a playoff berth for Minnesota and boosted Patterson to a 7-5 mark, a franchise record.

Patterson, 24 (12/8/82), joined the NLL in 2003 with the Vancouver Ravens posting a 1-4 mark in 18 games played over two years. After being acquired by Minnesota in the 2005 Vancouver Dispersal Draft Patterson has posted a 14-7 record in 30 games played over three seasons including last year's playoff game.
