Papirny Named Vaughn WHL Goaltender of the Month

CALGARY, AB - The Western Hockey League announced today that Jordan Papirny of the Brandon Wheat Kings has been named the VAUGHN WHL Goaltender of the Month for April 2015.

A 19-year-old from Edmonton, AB, Papirny posted a record of 8-1-1 over 10 appearances in April. Papirny also recorded a 2.15 goals against average and a .928 save percentage. In seven of the games he started, Papirny helped to hold the opposition to two goals or fewer.

Papirny's consistent play pushed the Wheat Kings to a 8-1-1 record through April and lifted the Club into the 2015 WHL Championship Series. The 6'1", 170 lb netminder also earned three second star selections in April.

Papirny is in his third WHL campaign with Brandon and has posted a 67-25-8-5 record with six shutouts in 108 career regular season contests. In 24 career post-season appearances, Papirny boasts a record of 17-6-1 with a 2.63 goals against average and a .924 save percentage.

These accomplishments make Jordan Papirny a deserving choice as the VAUGHN WHL Goaltender of the Month for April.
